Once you've clicked that 'order' button, I aim to ship out your goodies within 2-3 business days (not including weekends or holidays).
However, here in Florida, summer is no joke, and we take candle safety seriously! That's why, during the hot months, I only send packages out Monday – Wednesday to avoid your package from sitting in hot delivery trucks or warehouses over the weekend. No one wants melted candles, right? If you're anticipating a delivery during the summer, make sure someone's home to welcome your package and keep it cool!
I'm dedicated to ensuring your orders reach you as swiftly as possible! If any unexpected hiccups delay your shipment, I will reach out and keep you in the loop.

Most domestic orders arrive within 5-7 business days after being scanned in at the post office, but delivery times may vary (especially during the holiday season). Keep in mind, during Florida's summer months, I ship exclusively from Monday – Wednesday to prevent candle melting. While I do my best, I can't guarantee delivery times, as they depend on the postal service. I am not responsible for any delays, reroutes, or delivery hiccups. If you have concerns, especially in the summer, please reach out. Your satisfaction matters!
If you spot an error in your address after placing your order, please message me immediately so I can adjust it before shipping out!
I take extra care when packaging products, but occasionally accidents happen. No need to worry; I've got you covered! If your product arrives in less-than-perfect condition, please send me a message within 72 hours of receiving your order. Include your order confirmation and pictures of the product, the box (to show any damage), and the bottom of the box (to show the certification stamp).
The wax in our candles is a blend of coconut and soy wax. It features Honduran Coconut Wax sourced from small producers in Trujillo, combined with good ol' US-grown Soy Wax.
Ah, the mystery of the wrinkly candle tops! Don't fret; it's actually a common occurrence with natural vegetable waxes, and here's why:
The Magic of Natural Vegetable Waxes:
When you burn a candle made with waxes like soy or coconut, they exhibit unique traits. This natural phenomenon might give your candle's surface a slightly frosted or wrinkled appearance after burning. It's not a flaw, it's a sign of authenticity.
Why We Prefer Natural Vegetable Waxes:
Now, why do we choose natural waxes over alternatives like paraffin wax? Well, it's because we believe in providing you with a cleaner, safer, and more environmentally friendly candle experience. Unlike paraffin wax, which is derived from petroleum, natural vegetable waxes burn cleaner and produce less soot overall. Plus, they're renewable and biodegradable, making them a more sustainable choice.
So, if you spot a few wrinkles on your candle's surface, remember it's a testament to the natural goodness inside. We embrace these imperfections as a sign of quality and care for your well-being.
When we proudly declare ourselves as 'phthalate-free,' it means we've banished a potentially harmful ingredient from our products. Phthalates fall into the category of 'endocrine disrupting chemicals,' which mess with your hormones. Our customers our important to us, and your health matters! Can major candle manufacturers provide you with such a guarantee?
We use flat braid cotton wicks; you won't find any lead wicks here! (By the way, the U.S. banned lead wicks ages ago).
You bet! But don't get too scissor-happy! Trim the wick to about 1/4" before lighting your candle. If you notice the wick curling into itself, a carbon mushroom, or if the flame is going bonkers with smoke, just give it a trim and relight. It's all about keeping your candle happy, safe, and long-lasting.
Scent notes are the essential building blocks that give a scent its unique personality. They fall into three categories: top notes, middle notes, and base notes.
Top notes are like the fragrance's opening act – the scents that make the first impression. Middle notes follow up like the main event, stepping in once the top notes have had their moment to shine. And then we've got the base notes, which are like the grand finale, the lingering scents that stick around for the encore.
Some wax residue toward the top and middle of the candle is perfectly normal; it usually catches up and evens out as it burns down. However, if you spot excessive tunneling with more than 1/4" - 1/2" of wax left after burning halfway down the jar, let's talk. Tunneling can result from factors like poorly crafted candles or not allowing them to burn long enough (aim for 3-4 hours per burn, ensuring the melt pool nears the edges of the jar). Avoid burning more than 4 hours at a time.
Rest assured, quality is paramount here at Mad Hatter's Candle Co. Meticulous testing of ingredients is done to minimize the chance of this issue. While it doesn't guarantee it won't happen, it significantly reduces the odds.
That's just your candle having a little moment! Make sure to trim that wick as mentioned above, and watch out for sneaky drafts from windows, doors, vents, or even people passing by. If it's not a constant smokescreen, it's no biggie.
Oh, that's just a carbon buildup, aka a "mushroom." It happens to the best of wicks and waxes, especially with highly fragranced candles. No worries, just trim it before relighting. And remember, let the candle cool before trimming, so you don't have any wick debris taking a dip in the wax.
I totally get that scents are personal. Unfortunately, I don't do exchanges based on fragrance preferences. But hey, candles make awesome gifts, right? If you're not vibing with a scent, chances are someone you know will. Check out the fragrance profiles and notes in our product descriptions to help you make your pick!
Safety first! As the wick gets closer to the base, the bottom of the glass gets hotter. This can lead to cracks, breakage, or damage beneath the glass. That's why it is strongly advised to burn all candles on surfaces that can handle the heat.
